I need to learn that I am not beautiful like you, but that I am beautiful like me.

The trouble with words is that you never know whose mouth they've been in. Open your mind before your mouth.

When making a valid argument

  1. Take a deep breath
  2. Try not to be offended
  3. Understand that people are raised differently and even if they have a very ignorant or offensive view, it’s not necessarily their fault
  4. Be grateful that you have a better understanding of the subject, but don’t be arrogant about the knowledge you have. “Wisdom is like a candle, and it loses nothing lighting another candle.”
  5. Don’t curse for it makes you seem angry and for some people it will make them not want to hear anymore
  6. Let your words be eloquent and subtle, not forceful or angry
  7. Don’t speak condescendingly. Everyone knows more about one subject than another and chances are whoever you are arguing with knows more about something than you do
  8. If all else fails and the person you are discussing a subject with is still being disrespectful or hurting your feelings, punch them in the gut and run.
